About: Kaya Instruments Chameleon II CoaXPress 2.0 Camera Simulator

The first CoaXPress 2.0 camera simulator in the business is called the Kaya Instruments Chameleon II. In single, dual, and quad modes, this simulator is able to produce video streams and test patterns for up to 4 CoaXPress 2.0 connections. Standard CoaXPress 2.0 bitrates of up to 12.5 Gbps are supported by each link. The development of industrial, defence, and aerospace machine vision systems and applications is perfectly suited for this product. On the CoaXPress 2.0 connections, the Chameleon II may quickly send pre-processed data tailored to the client, generic test patterns, and customised video streams. Along with the video streams, it also offers GPIO for machine control signals like triggers, shaft encoders, exposure control, and general I/O.

The Simulator provides both run-time uploading of the video streams from computer memory and transmission of the streams from on-board memory. By attaching an external load, the Chameleon II Simulator also makes PoCXP simulation possible. Standard Micro-BNC connections are used as the Chameleon II's interface, and standard headers are used for all-purpose I/O. For video uploading and setup, the Simulator communicates with the host PC using PCIe Gen3 x8 connections.
